blackstrap molasses

Doing research on the internet I found several sites talking about the curative powers of blackstrap molasses for fibroids, including testimonials of people who shrank or got rid of them by using it. I thought what the heck, I’ll try anything, and anyway it’s high in iron and I had gotten anemic recently due to heavy periods. So I've added it to my regimen.
I’ve been taking 3 tablespoons a day for the last few weeks.

This week I had my period for the first time since starting my fibroid-shrinking regiment, and my blood loss is a lot less than usual. I almost can’t believe it, it’s so different. I wasn’t expecting my new regimen to have an impact so soon. Is it the molasses working?

And why would molasses work anyway? It’s hard to understand from what’s on the web exactly why it’s supposed to work, from what I can tell it may be because of the iron and the other trace minerals that it is rich in, also it evidently helps alkalize your body which acts against the fibroids. (I plan to write about alkalinization later in another post).

The molasses is cheap and easy and tasty (I mix with hot water and have it instead of dessert with each meal). You need to get specifically unsulphured blackstrap molasses, and like everything else it's best that it be organic.

Here are a couple of links talking about using blackstrap molasses to help fibroids. http://www.earthclinic.com/CURES/fibroids.html

If there is a good health food store or Whole Foods near you, then you can get it there. In case there's not, you can order it from Amazon.com, here's a link:Wholesome Sweeteners Fair Trade Organic Molasses, 32-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 6)

Hey there, I have been reading your blog and enjoying it thoroughly. I also have fibroids and after reading about the benefits of blackstrap molasses, I decided to experiment.

After over two weeks of taking it nearly every day, I can report that my period this month is about 50% less painful than last. I am also taking Vitex Combo, it is a herbal formula and I'm wondering if you've tried it. Ingredients include Chaste Tree, Black Cohosh and Wild Yam. I also joined the gym over a month ago and am generally feeling a lot better healthwise.

I am nearly 37 and trying to get pregnant. I had a miscarriage in December and now I am really taking a focused look at the fibroids issue. I am abut 20 pounds overweight at the moment which is a big factor.

I will continue with you on your journey. Best of luck with your ultrasound in April.

Thanks so much for your comment, and I'm so glad that you are enjoying the blog! This is a lonely journey so really appreciate the words of support!
That's great to hear that your period is so much better this month. Indeed there seems to be something to the blackstrap molasses (I have grown to love the taste too...). The Vitex Combo has things in it that I have often seen recommended as good western herbs for fibroids. I took vitex for about a year and it didn't help me unfortunately, so now I am doing primarily Chinese style herbs. But what works for each person is different it seems.
I'm also trying to lose weight, aobut 15 lbs to go to what I consider my ideal weight. I'm also feeling a lot better now that I am working out more.
Good luck and please keep me posted how you are doing!

I have been taking BlackStrap Molasses (BSM) since I was diagnosed with fibroids in Feb. of 2008. I has really worked!!! It has even regulated my periods (I was having a period twice a month, heavy bleeding, extreme cramping, fatigue, etc.). Women, if you are having menstrual issues or fibroid issues take BSM, the results are amazing!!! I breeze through my period every month now. It's barely a blip on my radar!!! I've also read that it even helps some women with menopause issues (I'll keep tabs on that since I'm almost 49 and about to enter that phase of my life).

Fibroid Shrinker said...

So glad to hear that the BSM has been successful for you! I have to admit I've been taking a break with it, I just maxed out. But I should get back to it!

After reading this blog, have just gone out brought some organic molasses and have my first taste. It has quite a good taste but is very sweet. I probably take this every morning but don't think I could do this 3 times a day. Its just too sweet for me!

I already take Vitex and do acupuncture and this has done wonders to slow down my period. My period is 7 days but only heavy for 8 hours. There is less clots and but more of a blood flow which I am happy about but would like to slow the flow a bit.

Will keep you updated.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hi Anonymous,
Yes the molasses is pretty sweet. I tend to take mine mixed with the Chinese herbs so the bitter and the sweet balance out. If it seems too sweet, maybe less at a time in more doses? I find it's pretty good with Celestial Seasonings Vanilla Hazelnut tea.
So glad to hear that the Vitex and acupuncture have been helping you. If the blackstrap molasses doesn't help enough with slowing the flow, I just heard about something called Solaray Menstrual Blend which some of the women on the fibroid listserv I'm on say has helped them (I have not tried it though).
Good luck and keep us posted!

Another bsm experimenter. At the moment I am in the throws of a horrible period. My mother had fibroids (and a full hysterectomy)and I assume I have them too. I'm 48 and the periods have progressively become worse each month. Two months ago I had hemoglobin of 6. I took iron for the past month and a half and saw a huge difference in my energy and stamina while changing nothing else. I will continue to take half the iron until my periods taper off but I will also try bsm. I love the stuff and ate it on cornbread and pancakes as a child. I tried it by the spoonful and can manage a teaspoon that way, but it's much better on buttered toast. So 3 T a day and we'll see what happens. Wish me luck girls.

Good luck with the BSM, I hope it helps you!

How will I know that the molasses is working?

Fibroid Shrinker said...

The thing most people seem to report as a result of the BSM is their menstrual blood flow gets ligher.

There are claims on the web that BSM can help shrink fibroids, personally I don't think BSM alone is enough to do that however it can be a good part of a fibroid-shrinking activity plan.

Anonymous said...

Thanks for your blog, very interesting. Where did you receive advice on the dosage of BSM? (ie 3 tablespoons). I'm a little worried about weight gain - I seem to remember taking it some years ago and putting on weight. Thanks again, J

Fibroid Shrinker said...

To be honest I'm not sure where exactly I found it, it must have been mentioned on one of the web pages I looked at. That amount also went well with my 3x per day herb regimen, as I took them together.
It is indeed very sweet so be careful not to overdo it! good luck!

Anonymous said...

Hello, thanks for creating this blog. So how did BSM worked out for you. Now it has been almost 8 months? Any difference? Thanks, V

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hi there, thanks for the comment. I found that the BSM helped me a lot when I first started taking it. However after time didn't see further progress, and according to the BioSet practioner I work with after awhile my body had had enough of it. (I am finding as I use various natural substances that my body likes me to change it up periodically) Also I discovered I have a Candida issue so it's better for me to avoid sugar. However, I still recommend BSM for those who have not tried it yet, as I did indeed find it to be helpful and other readers of this blog have too as you can see above.

I have never posted anything online until today. My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. I was booked in for a myomectomy for Wednesday (the day after tomorrow)and had to cancel it because I just found out that I'm pregnant!!!! I've been taking bsm for 2 months due to heavy periods and a 4cm fibroid. I can't attribute this to anything else! I encourage women to try bsm - it's harmless and for me, it worked!

I started taking 2 tablespoons of Black Strap Unsulphured Molasses and 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar.. and went back for my ultrasound 3 months later and my doctor was shocked all fibroids were gone and uterus shrunk down to normal size I was having extremly heavy periods and blood clots its all gone.. and Im into the last stages of menopause noe with more energy and no more moodiness I still take 1 teaspoon a day of each as it regulates my hormones!

Hi, thanks for the info.
I don't have heavy period but I do have a very very big fibroid and from all that I read here I didn't really understand if the BSM shrinked the fibroids or just reduced the period?
I'm also scheduled to have a surgey next month but of course I would be very happy not to do it.
Thanks aagin.

That's so interesting what your BioSet practitioner said about your body having "enough" of the BSM....I have been experimenting with unsulphered blackstrap molasses to control crazy heavy periods, and I've noticed that I seem to do best if I cycle on and off...a dose of BSM mixed in water once a day for a couple of months, then off for a couple of months. It really does work miracles for horrible periods, but after taking it daily for a few months I started feeling particularly heavy and bloated, almost like everything wasn't purging like it should. If I cut back then started back up again, that alleviated the problem.

I really wonder what it is in particular that helps, I know it's rich in iron, calcium and magnesium so maybe any combination of those.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Interesting what you've found about cycling on and off. I seem to find that with a lot of things, but the BDM in particular I can only take it for so long.

Yes and I wonder what it is in it that makes it work! Nobody seems to really know.

Hi All, just found out about BSM and Fibroids few days ago. I have 1 3.7cm fibroid and PCOS. I just started taking BSM 3days ago. After not being able to conceive for about a year I did Last month, but lost it at 7 weeks. I am currently monitoring my HGC levels to make sure all is cleared. within 7 days the bleeding had subsided, but HCG levels were still not zeroed out; now a week after, BSM has the opposite effect at this point. I literally feel like my womb is being purged. I'm hoping to do 3 months while I monitor myself, takin 2tbs daily. thanks for the posts, quite encouraging. CLL

This is in response to my post Sept 23. My periods of the month of Oct are over. I took BSM for about 4-5 days during my period, 1 spoon a day and took couple spoons during my first 2 days, again 1 spoon a day. This month was the most weirdest month in 1 year. My periods start with spotting, and it did this time as well. Usually my flow starts 3 or maximum 4th day. This time spotting continued up to 7th day!!! I was like..what's going on??? Flow started 7th day evening, heavy, but not as heavy as in the past, less clots. The flow continued for 3 days, again, not heavy, and very less clots!!! the periods ended at day 15th (including 7 days of spotting). So, did BSM worked??? It sure did, something did (I am 4 months into homeopathy medicine)!! This time less blood flow, less clots, but really painful periods :(. I would like to see how my 2nd month with BSM goes.. . I certainly will post again in one month. I do have some weird pain going inside me this month, the pain is still there, like cramps, in my thigh, shooting pain from top of the thigh to my knees. Sometimes right thigh, sometimes left. The shooting pain is also sometimes felt in the middle lower back. Anyone experiencing this as well?

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Thanks so much for sharing.
No, no shooting pain like that here...have you been looked at by a chiropractor?

hmm..why a chiropractor? I do not excercise (sadly, but i dont) neither i carry any weight or play sports..this is something else, i believe. Should i see a chiropractor?

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Just thinking the shooting pain in your leg might be due to a pinched nerve or something like that

Reponding to the anon post of Oct 19th, I experience a similar shooting pain from my left hip to the knew. I don't think it's unusual to experience ithis pain. I have endometriosis and believe this to be related to the pelvis pain that accompanies the condition. Hope this is helpful to you. :)

I have been taking BSM for iron, but I wondered how it might help hormonal/fertility issues. I am glad to hear that so many have had positive results!

Thanks so much for all of this information. I am faced with possible surgery for a fibroid which causes heavy bleeding that has led to anemia. The doctor has finally indicated that my iron levels are so low that there is no other option. I have gone out to purchase a bottle of BSM today and will try this to see if it will work to both alleviate the heavy periods and help with the iron levels.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

So sorry to hear about the anemia. I hope this helps. Also have you tried acupuncture and Chinese herbs? Might be worth giving try before you resort to surgery.
Best wishes to you

i'm going to try the bsm. it used to be helpful for my periods when i thought i had endometriosis, but i've recently been diagnosed with 4 fibroids...3 of which are walnut sized. i'm encouraged by others' results & its low cost!

i noticed that your site recommends a book that helps to eliminate fibroids. are there any tips that you can share about which foods to avoid? both my husband and i are graduate students living abroad & really can't afford the cost of the book!

thanks for creating this resource. :)

48 Year old Black Female in Virginia said...

OK, i stumbled across this blog since I had been diagnosed with fibroids years ago, but had no symptoms, until recently. As I am entering menopause, the fibroids grew and began to give me problems. Heavy bleeding, pain, etc. Had doctor's workup, checked for cancer, etc. Had an ovarian cyst removed, a uterine polyp removed and two fibroids "shaved down" through a surgical procedure. Things were goood for about a year and a 1/2. Then the fibroids came back and started with the pain again and heavy mentrual bleeding. Bleeding for about 15 days. Doctor offered hormones, hysteretomy, but I am scared of major surgery that could cause other health issues. I am 48 and will soon be in menopause and the fibroids will shrink so I am told. So I tried the blackstrap molasses thing and WOW, within 3 days the bleeding slowed down to nothing!!!!! AMAZING!!! Not sure what is in this stuff. But it worked for me! I am relieved and feel more energetic and the pain is gone too! Thanks for the posts on BLACKSTRAP molasses. Also, drink plenty of water and take a good multivitamin and exercise and eat less processed foods and you will notice a differnece in your fibroids! But I really think the molasses did the trick so quickly!

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Wow that is so great that you got results so quickly, thanks for sharing your experience!

Hi I'm 46. I have always had clots, but and I've only recently been told I have fibroids. Like you, I would like to shrink the fibroids and increase fertility (yeah I know I'm crazy but it would be #1 sniff sniff).

Do you know if the BSM would cause any lining issues? I'm just concerned that if it lessens the flow, it may be because it thins the uterine lining. I'm also battling my weight, so I'll have to watch the BSM calories.

You are correct when you say it's a lonely journey. I wish you the best of luck on yours.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hi Anonymous
Hmm that's a good question but I really don't know about the impact on the lining. To be honest, not sure exactly how the BSM works, and have not been able to find any good explanation.
Wishing you the best in your journey. A comment from me on trying at this age, make sure your partner's sperm are really great.

Thank you for your posts. I started the BSM last month right after my period ended (I had just found the post). My cycle for the last couple of years had started coming every 26 days. Most recently my 2nd and 3rd days were extremely heavy and I could go as many as 7 to 8 days. After the one month of BSM my cycle got very light at the end of the second day. I had coffee and then I had some cramping and a heavy gush that left a little heavy bleeding for about an hour. Then on day four it seemed to be completely over and then I had coffee again and another gush and heaviness for a about an hour. But I was completely done in five days. It's been a while since I've been done in 5 days. I will try to lay off the coffee altogether on my next cycle to see what results I get. My stomach has also felt less bloated.

No more fibs said...

Thank you for your posts. I have had trouble with fibroids for years. Had them shaved and had two children. Now they had come back with very heavy cycles with anemia. My day 2-3 were very heavy, and it lasted about 7 days with a 26-day cycle. I started BSM after the day after my cycle ended and (2 tbsp a day). My cycle was five days and much much lighter excepte when I had coffee. It seemed to cause cramping and gushers that lasted maybe a half hour. But there was definitely a difference. Next time I will try to do without coffee and see what happens. Not sure why coffee has this effect on me. It always prolonged my cycle even before BSM.

I have fibroids and I never went back to find out if it was growing but I had an indication because all of a sudden my once flat stomach started to distend. 11 years ago when I was 7 months pregnant I had surgery to remove the cyst fed by the estrogen and was growing while the baby was growing. Ever since that surgery I never got pregnant again. I'm 36 I have 2 kids but I still couldn't figure out why I never got pregnant again . I am thinking that the fibroids are doing something. I don't want surgery again. I have been using ACV for two months and honestly it has made changes in my body ph balance and my stomach feels flatter. I have recently started taking BSM (day 3) because I am encouraged to continue treating these fibroids without the suggestions of surgery. I do want another baby so I will keep you posted on results.

Hey Anonomous I have had Fibroids since 2000 and they wanted me to do a hystorectomy, I said no. I used to get my period and it would come and go in 2-3 days with just a little spotting. NO CRAMPS. Now I have had increased periods with clots. and legs are very weak and Pain in the pelvic area. It has been constant until this last last Dec 2010 I started having a pain in my lower back and in the crease of my body and thigh in the front. The pain now radiates down the back of my left leg at first it came and went but now its here all day everyday. In 2000 my Doc said my fibroid is like being six months pregnant he said that it will get worse if Something isn't done. To hear you are having simular pain makes me happy.. I know its them darn fibroids again. I recently found out when my grandmother died she was carrying a fibroid the size of a basketball. Im sure she died with low iron issues. I'm not sure why BSM works, but it does. Also, I don't know how much it shrinks fibroids, but it's a wonder cure for regulating your cycle.

I have a few small fibroids and started experiencing problems with heavy bleeding, clots and periods that would go for 5 or 6 days, stop for a couple and then start up again.

I read about BSM on a natural cure website and thought I would give it a try. I was on day 13 of my period. Bought a bottle of BSM and took a tablespoon at around 3pm. By 6pm, a mere 3 hours later, my period stopped!! Continued to take 2 tablespoons per day regularly. No more clots. No more unusually heavy periods. Cycles are regular, and get this, no menstrual cramps before or during my cycle.

Like I said at the beginning, I don't know why this stuff works, but trust me, I've been using it for almost a year, and I'm ready to film a commercial about the benefits!

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Will see what next month brings. Awesome natural remedy. Thanks so much.

I started BSM today for extremely heavy periods. I think I'm going to stick to 1 Tablespoon per day to begin with. I have been having very heavy periods with clotting and pain for a long time now. I know that I have at least one fibroid (found years ago). About 10 days ago I started taking a liquid iron supplement like Floradix. This period was still heavy, clotty, and painful~but the bleeding was definitely not as bad. It's my theory that the iron is what must help. For some reason, it seems like if you're low in iron you bleed more~which obviously just makes things worse. So if we take iron that our bodies can actually assimilate, it helps? Just my thoughts. I'll be back next month to let you know if the BSM changes anything for me! Thanks for the blog :)

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Yes it does seem that if you're low in iron you bleed more -- a pretty cruel irony!
I'm not sure if it's the iron in the blackstrap molasses, the various trace minerals, or the fact that it's alkaline, or all of the above.
Here's a link that talks about the various minerals that it contains:http://www.naturalnews.com/026296_molasses_health_sugar.html

Has taking BSM every delayed a period from starting??? I have had fibroids for abt 10 years. I am now 44. Started taking BSM about 2 weeks ago. My last 2 periods came 4 days early and the flow was heavy for abt 3 days, with a day of spotting before and after. My period was due to start yesterday (which would have been 28 days from the first day of my last period) I have been typically pretty regular in my cycles for several years. Just have heavy bleeding and severe cramping. Any insight would be great.

Hi, I just found your blog and thought I'd add my story. I saw a YouTube video about BSM about six months ago and went out and bought some right away. My favorite brands so far are Plantation and House of Herbs. I don't mix it with anything, I just swallow big gulps after every meal. My last two periods were so light I didn't need more then a panty liner. I also don't have the extreme pain and discomfort I've had in the past. I do believe BSM helps with fertility as well. Best of luck to everyone.

On a Mission

Hi, I have been disgnosed w/fibs sinc I was in my twenties. Had several miscarriages and one birth to a healthy son at 39. However, at 43 my uterus is even more enlarged than before and the fibs are out of control. Did some more research on natural ways to shrink fibs and came across the BSM. I got fed up with people asking was I pregnant so I'm on a mission to do it naturally. NO surgery for me, loss too much blood during vertical c-section. I can say I have been on it for five days now and my NRG level is improving, maybe I need to take it more than once a day. I use to eat this stuff when I was a kid too. Duh, I need to go back to the way I was eating then, I felt much more healthier. I was having heavy periods w/blood clotting and then started lasting for like 2 weeks. I believe this is going to help. I guess I will post results in some time. : )

Hi there,

I have been reading your blog and have started BSM 3 days ago, and will continue so by taking one tblsp in hot water. I am 37 and was diagnosed with fibroids 2 years ago. My periods have become very heavy (I have to change my pad every hour) and extremely painful in the pelvic area where I can barely walk for days at a time, and it lasts longer. There is even spotting for several days after my period is over. Recently I have been bleeding and clotting mid cycle. I hope the BSM works. My only concern is that I noticed a lot of women say their periods are a lot lighter. Does it affect fertility? Can i still become pregnant if my periods are lighter with BSM?

Hello,
I love this blog, having just found it finally realising others are going through what I am! I was told I had a 7cm fibroid in a position that pushes onto my bladder. My gyno gave me three monthly injections to stop periods - a false menopause - for 9 months. The side effects were not nice. My womb shrunk loads and the fibroid just a little. It has since grown again. I am very excited about trying blackstrap molasses. I live in France and cannot get them here, although I found organic molasses (no idea if it's blackstrap, can't find the French word for that) and I've been taking two teaspoons per day for a month. Normally my fibroid symptoms start 10 days before my period with pressure, pain by my bladder. My period is only 5 days away and I have very little in the way of symptoms so far. I can't wait to get to the UK and start the blackstrap stuff. I don't know if there's any difference but so far so good. Thank you all again for sharing your stories, I feel very comforted! In France, or at least in my area, the only solution to fibroids is hysterectomy! NO!

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hello Anonymous, Thanks for sharing your story. The 9 month false menopause does not sound like fun, and interesting that it didn't work (how frustrating!) So glad that the molasses seems to be helping, that's great! Please keep us posted on how things go. I agree with you, no hysterectomy! (Gee, I would have thought that France was more advanced on this kind of thing...)

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hello Sophie
That's a good question. It does seem that the BSM makes periods lighter, but as long as you are developing a thick enough lining each month it should be ok for getting pregnant. You can get an ultrasound and they can look at the lining approx day 12 or so and see if it has developed to "triliminal" which is best for implantation.

Good luck on your quest to shrink your fibroids. May you be blessed with healthy children to celebrate your fibroids disappearing.

Hi I am suffering terribley with fibroids I am on the pill doctors say nothing else can be done. If I come off pill life does not bare thinking about. I didn't know what molasses was I was just giggling and come across it. Do you take a couple of spoonfulls and put it in hot water daily? I do feel your pain and I am glad your better. I'm willing to give anything a try the only thing doctors suggest is to remove my womb. I don't fancy that either, I just read on another post ladies trying apple cider vinegar and molasses. Can you buy it from a super market or from Holland and Barratt? Your posts have been inspirational I must try it too =D

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hello Anonymous, So sorry to hear that you are suffering so much. Ugh I don't think surgery is a good option for fibroids, and personally am not a fan of the pill (anything that messes up your hormones is bad in my book). I do indeed put the molasses in hot water and drink it. I buy mine online (amazon.com), it's important to get unsulphured blackstrap molasses and ordinary supermarkets don't carry it. Same for the apple cider vinegar, you have to get the kind "with the mother". You can find both however at many health food stores, or in the U.S. at Whole Foods. I don't know Holland and Barratt as i'm in the U.S. Wishing you the very best! Keep us posted on how you're doing.

Thanku for your response it only occurred to me I maybe in a different country I am in the UK. I don't want to be on the pill but I didn't know of any other options I would be doubled over in labour pain for days just stuck in the bathroom. I will try shopping for the natural suggestions over the weekend. I just really hope it works as at the moment i feel like many things are just not possible even finding a partner as the pain would get in the way. Good luck with it miss uk

i have been reading your blog and have recommend friend to take the BSM and apple cider venigar. only i dont know how both can be taken. that together such as one spoon of BSM and one of ACV in the same cup 3 times a day or BSM at another time and ACV at another time during the day?

2ndly can you also take the above with fertility aid?
please i will like to know as my friends want children too

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hi Anonymous
That's a good question. I don't know that there is a specific protocol. I take my ACV on my salad as part of my salad dressing, and then the BSM in hot water as a drink.
I don't think there are any incompatibilities with fertility aids.
Good luck to you!

Hello.....has anyone actually shrunk a fibroid...using anything? Please let me know, otherwise, I'll just have to get this unsightly appendage removed.

Hi,
What an inspiring blog! Thank you for all the encouraging posts as they give me some hope on my own 'fibroid shrinking' quest.

I’ve been suffering with fibroids for years now and had previous surgeries to remove them but they just keep coming back. I have a 8.5cm fibroid in my uterus and was told by my gynaecologist that the only option is hysterectomy which I’d like to avoid if at all possible.

I used to get severe long lasting pains and very heavy periods with clots lasting for weeks. I have been on oestrogen-free (=wheat, gluten, soya, dairy free) diet for several months now which I think has helped control the pain a bit but the best result I have experienced is after starting taking Blackstrap Molasses. I had almost no pain during my last period and if I had some, it wasn’t too bad and responded to pain-relief tablets very fast.

My main problem is constant bleeding and anaemia but hopefully the Molasses and Iron supplements will help to increase my iron levels. I have been bleeding for over 30 days now and for another 30 days a few days before that so no wonder I’m anaemic but I just don’t seem to be able to control it. I have started taking homeopathy Pulsatilla which seems to improve the blood flow a lot but still not stopping it!! But the interesting thing is that I feel great within myself and have no pain. I have tried the ACV as well for a few days only but have stopped it as I wasn’t sure if that was the cause for my bleeding but maybe will give it another try.

I was wondering if anyone had similar problems with prolonged bleeding and if they found something that worked. Any advice will be highly appreciated, thank you.

I am 31. I have had the walls of my uterus scraped several times because of the thick layers of tissue. The fibroids on my left ovary are the worst. It feels like someone is squeezing my ovary. I may have 3-4 cycles per yeardue to polycystic ovarian syndrome. When i do cycle they are extremely painful and heavy with loqts of clotting. Will this regulate my menses? Eventually I would like to have children. Right now just focused on trying to become pain free.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Hello Anonymous
The blackstrap molasses might help regulate your cycle, but based on what you have said I think that acupunture and chinese herbs would be even more helpful. Is there any acupuncturist near you?

Hi Deborah,

I hear ya! I'm 32 years old no children. 2012 I had a myeoectomy of a 13 cm 4 pound fibroid and many more. Sad to say that the fibroid distorted my uterus, also I have two bilateral complex ovarian cyst on both ovaries, and I have endometriosis. My Dr told me later on that my uterus needs to come out ( health issues). Right now I have a 8cm fibroid that grew 2 cm in 1 year. Currently I have an ultrasound follow up Aug. 12th. In the mean time I've been taking one tablespoon of blackstrap molasses and one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar. I'm hoping a long with eating right and exercise that the stuff will shrink or something. My problem is not the period but the pelvic pain that reeks havoc on me!!!!!! This will be my 3rd time going to have an ultrasound done this year. I want to keep 'home girl ' even though having children is still in mind.

What a great blog! I have a fibroid in the wall of my uterus that started causing extremely heavy bleeding. The doctor had me try progesterone pills for five months. The only other real option is a hysterectomy. The pills did nothing to help, and I want to avoid surgery, so I started searching for natural remedies and found out about BSM. After bleeding for 20 straight days, I began taking 1 Tbsp. twice a day. The bleeding stopped almost immediately and I have not even had any spotting, and it's been five days. I'm crossing my fingers that this keeps up - if it does, I'm going to be VERY happy!

Hello, I am 48 years old and my last ultrasound revealed 11 small fibroids and 3 medium fibroids along with an ovarian cyst. My menstrual cycle pains have become unbearable along with heavy clotting, which lead me to your site, searching for natural cures. When I read about Blackstrap Molasses and Apple Cider Vinegar, I had to try it. I already had these items at home and took it immediately. I took two tablespoons ACV straight followed with two tablespoons BSM at 2:00 a.m. Upon waking up that morning, a miracle occurred. My blood flow was unbelievably lighter and minimal clotting, My period lasted 3 days! This really works! I was about to get Mirena IUD inserted and thank God I found your site before doing so. Anyone suffering from fibroids and cyst must try this. I wait anxiously for my next ultrasound. I will tell you my results. Thanks so much for sharing!

Hello Carrie,

Hello - I have found out I have a very large fibroid.

I have been taking 3 large tablespoons of BSM in warm water with half a lemon for the last 7 days.

I have been bleeding lightly since 25 march, but since taking BSM my bleeding has become heavy and have got large clots.

Is this down to the BSM cleaning me out?

Hi,

All my life I suffered from heavy periods, severe back pain, vomitting, etc. Recently I found out I was pregnant, so I went to the gyno and was told I had a fibroid and was anemic. Thankfully, I found various blogs about BSM and the success in shrinking fibroids and aiding in menstrual issues. So, I bought the organic unsulphured BSM and am taking 1 tbsp BSM with 1tbsp ACV daily. I read that ACV destroys the bad oestrogen that causes fibroid growth and the BSM replaces nutrients as the ACV strips the fibroid. I am not sure how true that is but this is my regimen. Since doing this along with prenatal vitamins, I have felt more energized and not weak. I am currently 5 weeks pregnant and my next bloodwork and ultrasound is in 3 weeks. I will update with regards to the feedback.

One thing to note is that chocolate, fatty foods, dairy products and caffeine greatly increase oestrogen which feed fibroids. If trying to shrink fibroids ease eliminate these products and your life would be easier.

Fibroid Shrinker said...

Thanks much Anonymous, so glad to hear that the BSM and ACV are working for you. Looking forward to hearing how your next bloodwork and ultrasound go!

Hi all,
I am reading this hoping that bsm will help my wife who has had to contend with heavy bleeding for weeks since her period returned (early) after having our daughter. All the posts are very reassuring. Despite feeling optimistic, given how tough it's been for her, I don't want to have out give her any false hope. I will try to update you on her progress once the bsm arrives in the post.
Fingers (and everything) crossed for you all.
God bless and thanks for taking the time to keep this blog going and helping others.

I am so happy to have found this blog! I am suffering from severe anemia. I have had heavy painful periods since I was 10 years old. I am currently 42. I was told in my 20'S that I have several fibroids which disappeared after having my son. But the painful heavy 7 days straight periods remained. Which is contributing to my anemia. Iron supplements did nothing to change my hemoglobin levels. It only caused horrible constipation, which in turn caused hemorrhoids and rectal bleeding, which continued to affect my anemia. So it became my mission to find a cure. After two weeks of research I found my answer! I found that caffeine blocks iron. I almost cried, because I am a nurse that works very long hours and love my coffee and green tea. Needless to say I stopped drinking both. I started taking chlorophyll and black strap molasses in orange juice. Overnight my symptoms subsided. Flow was lessened, no pain, and my hemoglobin went from 8.2 to 12! Hallelujah! I am only on my third day and pray that this concoction continues to work. Hope this helps anyone suffering from the same symptoms
